“Game Changer” by Mauricio Shiroma and Veronica Teodorov was released on July 1st, 2021. The textbook’s mission is to disseminate information and knowledge in the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence. It is a four-level lower Secondary course designed to give young teens all the confidence they need to prepare them for a world where critical thinking, great communication skills and creativity are key. Niam’s goal within the textbook is to teach students through his story that there are different ways of communicating, that everyone has the ability to reach their full potential, and inspire our future leaders of tomorrow.
The different forms of communication touched upon include gestural language, light touching to get attention, speaking through a medium such as art and speech communication devices which Niam personally uses.
Niam has broken down barriers and dispelled myths through this collaboration, he continues to create awareness for the autism community by showcasing that individuals with autism are capable of being contributing members to society and are able to develop careers for themselves.
