The Making of ‘Garden of Tulips’
Fostering Niam’s art career is very important to us as a family. We often work together to provide the conditions and setting necessary for Niam to feel free and be his most creative.
This was Niam’s first time-lapse video shoot, documenting his painting of ‘Garden of Tulips’ in 2018. Rohan, Niam’s older brother, set up the camera in the backyard. Painting amongst nature is where Niam is most happy and productive as a creative.
Niam chose his colours. I (Nina, Niam’s mother) opened all the paint cans for him, prepared his workspace, and the rest is history. The music in this video is an original composition created for Niam by Rohan. I love the collaboration and genuine love between my two children. It is very special.
In the time-lapse you will experience how Niam begins a painting, how he gradually develops his paint layers, and how and when he decides a painting is complete.
